Hello there! My name is Alex and I am here to make sure that your child absolutely crushes the SAT! When I was a senior in high school I got a perfect score on the math section and a 770 on the English section, and since then I've spent the last five years working as an SAT tutor with the singular goal of identifying the that factors allowed me to succeed and the best method to bridge the gap between wherever my student is and where I was so that they can see the same kind of results.

I'm a graduate of the University of Maryland's bioengineering program, and work as a biomedical engineer and data scientist. Throughout my time in the Clarke School of Engineering, I worked both independently and for a company as a tutor in a variety of fields, with a variety of students. I've seen the gamut of aptitude levels and have dealt with a plethora of personalities, with each new experience cementing my love for teaching. I live for those moments when I get to see the light bulb click on, and the student's confidence grow as they conquer a task that they used to think was beyond them.

My tutoring method is built on three main pillars:

1) Learn from your mistakes. Too often I see students making the same mistakes over and over. In sessions, the top priority is making sure that you remember how to do the problems you've gotten wrong previously, and that you understand both WHY you got them wrong and HOW you can avoid that mistake in the future.

2) The data never lies. Many online education sites give students the impression of learning with skill bars and fluency meters, etc. While these things make students feel good, they don't necessarily translate into better results. My students constantly are constantly doing practice sections and
recording and visualizing the results using complimentary tools that I provide so that we can clearly see how they are improving over time.

3) It's hard to learn when you're bored to tears. As someone who had difficulty learning in the classroom setting, I have a deep emp
