I believe in setting the bar high and achieving with patience and practice. I've worked with both adults and children from all backgrounds and with varying learning abilities. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
In the beginning, Algebra can seem like a foreign language. Do you find yourself asking, "What are real numbers, rational numbers, integers?" Or maybe, "What does it mean when a + 7 = 13?" Perhaps you're saying, "My graph looks nothing like the graph in the book!"
I can explain this and more, in clear terms. Together we can overcome your confusion and you can gain a solid foundation for Algebra and beyond.
