About Linda

Welcome to my tutoring page. I have been teaching and tutoring students in French and ESOL for many years. I enjoy helping my students prepare for tests or improve their language. I, myself, lived in France for one year and attended the Universite de Clermont-Fd. as a special student. All of my credits for that year were accepted by my American University!

If you would like help from someone who speaks French well and is a master teacher, please contact me so that we can schedule a first meeting.

Recently, I became interested in SAT preparation in order to help my son, who is a junior, increase his skills. I understand that very bright students may need test taking skills to earn those high scores. If I can help you take control of the various sections of the Reading, Vocabulary, and Grammar sections of the SAT, please contact me.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ESL/ESOL

I hold a MA in Linguistics from The American University in Washington, DC with a certificate in ESL.

I hold a teaching certificate in ESOL in Maryland for grades K-12.

I am currently an ESOL teacher in Anne Arundel County Public Schools.

French

Welcome to my subject profile. I began to study French in 7th grade. Throughout secondary school and college, I continued this study and hold a BA in French Education from Towson State University. I was fortunate to participate in Towson State's Junior Year abroad program and received those credits from the French University at Clermont-Ferrand. I hold masters credits in intensive French grammar and pronunciation from Middlebury College's summer language institute.
To further my expertise as a language teacher, I earned a MA in Linguistics from The American University in Washington, DC.
I have been rated as an outstanding teacher in the public schools in Baltimore County and Anne Arundel County.
