“**Terrific tutor!**”

Hi:

I am a an experienced tutor in math, the physical sciences, engineering and logic. My main object in tutoring is to show the student the EASY way to solve problems and to build up their confidence in their ability to do so.

I have been teaching and tutoring for the past 50 years and have helped many students achieve their

In-person lessons

Wilton has been a terrific tutor this year! He has helped both Colin and Aidan with their studies. He is very patient and thorough, and they benefited much from his instruction!

Ken provides context to the material that the student is working on. He is great at problem solving and adds real life, interesting knowledge.

Wilton is a patient, engaging teacher who uses real-world examples and experiences to illustrate difficult AP Physics concepts. My teenage son, who is not easily impressed by anyone over the age of 30, admitted that "He really knows his stuff." It was an excellent session and we look forward to more!

Math:

Algebra 2,
Science:

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I taught Math 012, which is remedial algebra II, at AACC for several terms

I am currently tutoring midshipmen at USNA in Calculus I, II and III. In the past I have Physics I and II at the Academy.

I started programming in 1964 on an IBM 1401 in assembly language (AUTOCODER). For the next 23 years I for the following machines, mostly in FORTRAN but sometimes in assembly language: RCA 301, IBM 1620, Univac 1107/1108, Xerox Sigma 7, DEC PDP 10, IBM 370/168, Prime 50 series.

I have a MSCS from NJIT. The course of study included courses in algorithm analysis and design, data comm., operations research, numerical analysis and other subjects.

I took an undergrad course in ODE as well as well as a grad course call Mathematical Methods which covered Sturm-Liouville PDE systems at Ohio State. At Penn State, I took a grad course in PDEs. I have tutored before in this subject.

I took an undergrad course in matrix theory at Ohio state. At Penn State, I took grad courses in probability and logical design. I also took a grad MathStat course. At NJIT, I took a grad course in algorithm analysis. At John Hopkins, I took a course in probability. At Univ of Md, I took an undergrad course in mathematical logic. I taught modern logic at Ann Arundel Community College for 2 years.

I taught PHL151 (Modern logic) at Ann Arundel Community College for several years. Also, I audited Math450 (Mathematical logic) at the University of Maryland and took an EE course in logical design at Penn State.
