Having recently received a Ph.D. in English from Arizona State University, I am well positioned to help with any of your writing needs. I have gained significant experience teaching as part of my Ph.D. program and my experiences at past institutions, including courses in American literature, world literature, as well as basic composition.
I specialize in tutoring the subject of English in many ways - SAT verbal or SAT writing, composition at the high school or college level, literature assignments, or ESL help. I also help with writing college application essays and scholarship entrance essays.
I have tutored one-on-one at a local community college, and have done so for the past three years, helping ESL students and composition students with any kind of writing or English assignment. I love helping to problem solve, and help students feel more in control of their writing and gain new skills. I see many students that I tutor come back to tell me how well they've done on an essay, and I feel proud to have helped them!
I like to receive feedback on my services, and if a client is unhappy, I am glad to spend extra time at no charge to make sure the person is completely satisfied.
I have flexible hours, and am happy to travel and meet at a location of your choice for a session.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you to achieve success in your studies! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
