I completed "Act One" in 1997 when I retired from US Army. "Act Two" began with art teacher certification and a job with Cecil County Public Schools. "Act Three" began with my second retirement in July of 2014. Teaching is something that has always come naturally to me. Whether as a sergeant training young soldiers to be tactically and technically proficient or as a classroom teacher giving young artists opportunities for self-expression and creative problem-solving, I have always enjoyed the exchange, the give and take of learning, the joy of seeing that "aha" moment when you know that you have broken through. I plan to continue to seek those "aha" moments as an artist and as a teacher.
I have never worked as a tutor but I see it as a great opportunity. Being able to tailor a learning experience to the specific needs of the client would lend itself to a richer and more cohesive encounter. I look forward to hearing from you soon. If you have specific questions I can answer about lessons for you or if you are ready to set up a schedule.

For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
