Brandeis University (Math)
I have six years of tutoring experience in all levels of math. including the math portions of the SAT, ACT and subject tests. My day job is working as an Actuary where I do math all day, and then in the evenings and weekends I tutor! I have loved math all my life, majored in math at Brandeis University and pursued a career in math. However, I have always been interested in teaching math as well, and love working with students on math challenges.
My approach for academic tutoring is to provide support that targets the needs of each student. If you are missing key skills that are preventing you from advancing, we will work together to identify and develop those skills so you can be more confident in the classroom. I am a very patient person and will work with you at whatever pace is needed to achieve success!
If you need test prep assistance, the first step is to determine a base line upon which we set a target test score. From there I will establish a curriculum tailored to your abilities and work with you to ensure that you reach your goals.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
