Assumption College (Elementary Education)
My love for teaching goes far beyond a job description, it is a lifelong passion for learning and knowledge. As a recent college graduate from Assumption College, I know that hard work and a motivation to learn goes a long way. With over 400 hours of classroom teaching experience, as well as four years of rigorous coursework, I am fully prepared to meet the needs of all the students I will have the pleasure of working with throughout my education career.
I have held a number of part-time and summer positions in the educational/recreational field that have helped me to develop my professional skills. My work with children in these positions has enhanced my knowledge of child growth and development and enabled me to observe/interact with children and adolescents in informal and non-school settings. I look forward to sharing my enthusiasm, training and experience with students. My ability to build positive relationships with students, implement a variety of best teaching practices developed through my recent coursework and classroom experiences, and integrate strategies that ensure students are excited to learn and strive to succeed will enable me to be a great asset to your learning.
I am qualified and have practice in tutoring and working with small groups in English Language Arts, Reading, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science. My specialization and specialization content major in my undergraduate career was in English. In my past, I have spent time as a writing tutor, helping both native English students and International students in writing. During my time as a nanny I also helped the tutor with her daily lessons and collaborated to create fun and educational ways for the children to learn. Furthermore, I have an 11 year old sister who has designated me her personal tutor each and every afternoon. Which, of course, I am more than happy to oblige.
Please do not hesitate to contact me, I am confident that together we can work together to meet all of your learning goals! I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
