Worcester State College (Elementary Education)
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I love helping children enrich their lives by motivating them to comprehend whatever they are learning in school. My students enjoy their tutoring lessons, and I inspire them to want to do well in school. I teach in a creative way yet keeping with the tasks of the day. I just finished tutoring a 5th grader with ADD for two and one half years in all subject areas concentrating in reading, writing reports, math, spelling, vocabulary, and test prep. I found it to be a very rewarding experience. I currently tutor another three 5th graders one day a week who I have been helping with reading comprehension, math, MCAS test prep, spelling, and especially writing skils. I have a lot of patience and compassion with my students. I look forward to working with whatever challenges are given to me.
Now that summer is approaching, I want to inform everyone that I tutor students during the summer months. I feel it allows them to keep up with the current school year, and I prepare them for the following grade. It gives them a head start, so they feel confident and ready to enter into the next level of successful learning skills.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I worked with a child for three years who had ADD. I am very experienced in dealing with focus problems, and children who need to settle down to work. Patience is key to helping these children with ADD.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I have three years experience in tutoring the following subjects: reading, vocabulary, math, spelling, science, social studies, writing, and test prep.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I have tutored students for the last four years in reading and phonics. Teaching phonics as it is applied to reading is a process for the child. They need to know the basic rules; however, there are always exceptions to the rules. The more reading they do on a daily basis will help them understand phonics as they mature. By third grade phonics becomes natural to the student without even having to think about the rules.
I have helped many students with organizational skills. They may need their binder put together in a orderly fashion. If they need to prep for a test, I make certain they have all the papers needed to study for the test in the order by date. I teach my students how to be organized, so it makes learning easier. If you have clutter you can not think straight for a test, book report, or even a homework assignment. Being organized creates less stress for the child's learning experience.
