Hi! My name is Rachel, and I graduated from Harvard University cum laude with a degree in History & Literature in 2014, and I have my Master's in Education and I am a licensed teacher in MA. While at Harvard, I tutored fellow students in the Writing Center, working on editing, proofreading, and academic writing strategies. In high school, I tutored my peers in English, Creative Writing, and History. I love tutoring because it is so customizable! I love working together with you to figure out your best learning process, drawing upon my experience as a multi-faceted learner and teacher to design tailor-made programs of study based what you need.

I graduated high school as valedictorian of my class of 364 students, and while at Harvard I earned a GPA of 3.8 and graduated with both English and Latin honors. Those grades did not always come easily to me, however, which means I have spent over a decade figuring out the best test-taking and learning strategies in order to succeed. I also scored 2390 on my SATs (equivalent to 1590 on the new SAT scoring system) and I have stayed up-to-date with current SAT tests and scoring guidelines.

I have always been some sort of teacher: between tutoring for the past decade and spending five years as a classroom teacher in the public schools, I have a wide variety of teaching experience, which means I have many strategies to draw upon when tutoring. I consistently received positive feedback from parents and students in my classroom for my innovative and enthusiastic teaching style.
