Hello, my name is Lauren and I am looking for opportunities to tutor in the Baltimore area. I graduated from Roger Williams University in May 2015. In college, I tutored precalculus, as well as calculus 1 and 2 for 3 years. During my junior and senior year I was a team lead for the classes I tutored and during my senior year I was a trainer for new tutors. In this position, I was responsible for attending lectures, taking notes, meeting individuals outside of class for assistance as well as conducting group review sessions weekly. Additionally, I taught English to native French speakers in Paris, France during my semester abroad (2014.) I was responsible for composing lessons and teaching vocabulary, while encouraging participation and engagement in language lessons. I also assigned projects related to the lectures for the students to complete each week.

My majors in college were Biology and French. My biology background is mainly focused on molecular biology. My previous coursework consists of genetics, biochemistry, cell biology virology as well as public health. This major also required me to complete prerequisite courses such as chemistry and physics. I have been studying French for over 10 years and have completed a variety of courses in French composition, conversation and literature. I spent a semester living with a host family in Paris and attended a French university during this time, completing all courses that semester entirely in French. History has always been an interest of mine and I would enjoy tutoring either American or World history as well. I have previous coursework in both of these subjects in college.

My favorite thing about tutoring is helping students to reach their goals. It makes me happy when I help others succeed! I enjoy working with students to determine how they learn the best and working to help them the best way I can.
