Bonjour et salut!
I am a former French teacher who has taught in both public and private schools within Massachusetts both at the middle and high school levels. I have a Master of Arts in Teaching from Simmons College with a concentration in French. I am very familiar with the French curriculum that is taught from French 1 to French AP Language (both Honors and non-Honors) as well as most of the textbooks that are being used throughout both secondary schools and colleges. My eldest daughter scored a 5 on the French AP Language exam and was a French minor in college. My son enjoys his French Cinema class; my younger daughter is taking French 3 and my youngest son is taking beginning French. I also teach a weekly Advanced French Conversation course for Newton Adult Education where we explore contemporary themes in France today.
My benefit to you is that I not only offer language expertise but an understanding of what the French teachers (and College Board) are looking for having been on the teaching side. I have experience with a wide range of levels and abilities and want to share my love and passion for this beautiful language. However, I also understand if you are just trying to “get through” your French class—I will give you the most efficient ways to prepare for your quizzes and tests with different activities/worksheets that I have developed over the years.
I look forward to meeting you.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have an MAT specializing in French and have been teaching French for over 7 years to students and adults. I also lived in France for almost 5 years and continue to visit France often as I have friends and family there.
