As a licensed special education teacher, I have gained experience in developing unique action plans to target areas in need of growth by utilizing a student's strengths. Your child will benefit from engaging, interest driven targeted instruction to build a love of learning and feeling of success. I believe strategy-based instruction allows students the opportunity to develop a toolbox in which they can access and apply with greater independence across contexts.
I have experience working with students from first grade through eight grade across academic areas, including ELA, writing, phonics, and math, as well as study skills and strategies to support executive functioning. As a trained reading specialist, with a degree in language and literacy from Harvard's Graduate School of Education, and certified Wilson Reading instructor, I believe strong literacy skills support student's ability to communicate with the world around them. Making connections to what children learn and what they already know help them build off of their already existing foundation. I look forward to getting to know your child's strengths and using my diverse teaching experiences to develop an effective action plan that will promote his or her academic success.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a certified Wilson instructor. I have professional teaching experience as a special education teacher. I have worked in both a language based program and as a co-teacher in a general education environment. I have worked both as an interventionist and as a case manager for children with dyslexia.
I am a Licensed teacher trained in assessments, trained in math interventions, and I have experience with math curriculum from grades k to 5.
I am a certified special education teacher in the state of Massachusetts. I have a M.Ed in Language and Literacy and was trained as a reading specialist. I have met the qualifications, including passing the state test, to become licensed as a reading specialist in the state of Massachusetts. I have also completed the requirements to become certified as a Wilson Reading instructor.
I am a licensed special education teacher with a Masters degree from Harvard's Graduate School of Education in language and literacy. I am a Wilson certified tutor as well. These experiences will allow me to use relevant assessments and develop an action plan for your child to ensure progress in the area of spelling.
