I have an MA in Spanish and have been teaching Spanish for 16 years. I have taught grades 6-12 at all levels of Spanish, from the very basic beginner to the AP level. Therefore, I can help you learn Spanish from the beginning or help you prepare for the AP exam; whatever you need. I enjoy using flashcards, games, music, and the internet to reinforce and practice grammar and vocabulary lessons. Activities will be assigned for between sessions in order to practice what was learned during the session. Hi,

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have had a love for the Spanish language, literature, and culture since high school. While at college, I travelled to Spain for a semester abroad program where I lived with a family while attending classes in Seville. I also lived in Puerto Rico for two months my senior year of college in order to complete a student teaching practicum there. I taught Spanish to the Spanish speakers there in 7th and 8th grade. I continued with my studies in graduate school at Middlebury College. The program at Middlebury is a complete immersion program in which we must speak only Spanish and even sign a contract committing ourselves to do so. Since then I have kept up with my Spanish through travel and Spanish teacher seminars. Last July, I lived in Argentina in an apartment to completely immerse myself in the culture and continue practicing my speaking with native Spanish speakers.
