About Sarah

As a 5th year teacher, I have the experience and knowledge needed to be an effective tutor for your child. I have taught preschool and 1st grade in New York City and have recently begun teaching 2nd grade in Massachusetts. Recently, I received my master's degree in Literacy K-6 from Columbia University and I am looking to use my skills beyond my own classroom. Although I have not tutored before, I love learning with my classroom students and pride myself on understanding each student both academically and socially.

I have taught elementary math, reading and phonics for five years. I have my master's degree in Literacy. I have also been using the common core to drive my practice for five years. I have my teaching certification.

If your child is ready to become invested and excited about his/her learning, then please contact me! I am excited to begin tutoring your child.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
