Hi! My name is Danielle. I have a B.S. in Physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, with minors in both Astrophysics and Music. Currently, I am pursuing my Ph.D. I have experience teaching and tutoring all ages, including middle/high school and college-level physics and math.
While taking graduate physics courses at SUNY Albany, I was the Lab Instructor for the undergraduate Physics I course, and a Teaching Assistant and Grader for undergraduate Physics II and Electricity and Magnetism courses. I also tutored individuals and groups in Physics I and II. During this time, I was also an Instructor for The Princeton Review for SAT Prep, and I did small group tutoring for the physics portion of the MCAT. I spent two summers as an Astronomy Teaching Assistant for Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth (CTY), where I had a blast teaching students aged 13-16 about astronomy and physics. While still in high school, I began giving private bassoon and music theory lessons.
As someone who learns better by a hands-on, more visual approach, I realize that you only absorb just so much from lectures or reading a book. It can take practice doing problems or just looking at them from a different approach to make it "click". I consider this one of my strengths when tutoring; I adapt to the student and his/her way of learning.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
