I am a mother of 2 children, ages 11 and 9. I am a teacher currently working as an ESL paraprofessional in a public school system. I teach children in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. I have experience working with high school and middle school students as well. I am licensed in Massachusetts to teach English to students in grades 5 through 12. I have significant experience with students with special needs.
English is a subject I have excelled in my entire life so it is very rewarding to be able to teach my skills to students and help them to be successful. My style is a combination of theory based and total communication learning. I am easily able to adapt my teaching style your needs after figuring out where your strengths are and what areas you need to work on. Currently I would prefer to tutor nights and weekends.
I have 4 years of teaching experience mostly in ELA. I currently hold a Massachusetts license to teach English grades 5-12. I hold a BA in English. I currently work in a public school teaching ESL to elementary school children.
I look forward to hearing from you to discuss your tutoring needs and to set up a schedule that works for you! Please feel free to contact me through WyZant.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
