If you want a patient, caring, results-oriented tutor, you've found him! I've been successfully tutoring students for over 10 years. I teach a wide variety of subjects, and will work with anyone from grades 4 through Adult. I specialize in middle and high school Math (Algebra 2 is my favorite), and standardized test prep: PSAT, SAT, HiSET, ACT, etc. Most of my students improve their total SAT scores by 80-250 points! I can also help with the college search and admissions process if necessary.
I usually tutor students at their homes, but I am willing to work at another location (public library, coffee shop, etc.), if preferred. Please contact me for more details, past results, and references. Looking forward to working with you! Thanks. If you want a patient, caring, results-oriented tutor, you've found him! Jonathan has been a wonderful tutor for my daughter. He has increased her vocabulary alot, since English was her weakest subject. By teaching her new vocabulary words in every lesson, she sure will pass her English section on the SAT'S exam.
Jonathan is helping me review Algebra 1 and teaching me Algebra 2. He has taught me things which I should have learned years ago but didn't for some reason. He has taught me more in one lesson than the last person who called himself a math tutor did in one year, so long ago. While that may not necessarily be high praise, Jonathan is an excellent tutor nevertheless.
Thank you, Frank! I'll continue to do my best to assist you!
My son was enthusiastic and more confident after only one lesson! Looking forward to continuing to work with Jonathan.
Jonathan tutored our daughter for the math SAT and worked very diligently with her. We think his tutoring will really help when she takes the SAT.
Jonathan is very easy to communicate with and was able to zero in on the subject material that was causing difficulties. Jonathan also was able to work with my son's schedule and we look forward to establishing a long-term tutoring relationship with Jonathan.
Update 5/23/14 - Jonathan recently spent extra time with my son when he needed it for an upcoming lab quiz. My son came home after the quiz, in a positive mind frame (amazing!), saying he had carried his two other lab partners during the quiz. And very important, Jonathan was flexible and changed my son's tutoring day to the day before the quiz in order to help him prepare.
Jonathan was very helpful in zeroing in what I needed to concentrate on to be able to pass my nursing school entrance exam. Every week, I enjoyed meeting with him and going over the practice exams I did and then going over the answers I got wrong. He was able to not only show me why I got them wrong, but how I could make it easier for myself to get it right the next time I saw that same question. I would recommend him to anyone that is looking for someone who is very patient and enjoys his work.
My son had his first chemistry lesson with Jonathan this past week. My son was a little apprehensive about having a tutor but he found Jonathan to be helpful, easy to understand and feels he'll benefit from his weekly lessons.
Jonathan came into my home introduced himself and started teaching. LOVE THAT! Love the KISS Method. Daughter feels comfortable around him. Thanks.
Jonathan is doing very well with our daughter. She neglected to bring home any of the work she needed, but Jonathan showed up with a book so the lesson could continue. I sincerely appreciate how prepared and dedicated he is.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have helped several students in this area. I provide: SAT/ACT preparation, help with the college search process, essay writing and proofreading assistance, help in preparing for various types of college placement exams(Accuplacer, TEAS, etc.), assistance in filling out the FAFSA and other financial aid forms, as well as help with the college application itself. I also help students determine, based on their backgrounds, what college/career school/course of study would be the best for them.
