While I was in college, I was a teaching assistant and laboratory instructor in photography. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Over the past thirty years, I have mentored interns and photographic assistants; many are working as professional photographers. For a number of years, I was president of the New England Chapter of American Society of Media Photographers. My images and I have been highlighted in numerous publications such as Photo District News and Fuji Profiles.
I will bring my knowledge of photography and attention to details to any student who chooses to tutor with me. My real world experience will be brought to all lessons. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been a professional photographer for almost thirty years. I have a degree in Political Science and Sociology from Boston College. I have graduate degree credits from Boston University in Public Communications. My photography training includes teaching assistant in photography while a student at Boston College, internships, Franklin Institute and classes at The Maine Media Workshop. My experience in creating photographs covers a very broad range of disciplines.
