Hi! My name is Emily and I currently teach first grade. Last year, through my Masters' program, I taught first, third, and fifth grade in Athens, Greece. My passion for reading and writing help my students succeed even with the most difficult of learning challenges.
I have wanted to be a teacher since I was eight years old and I take pride in the fact that I love a good challenge. I was a camp counselor for many years and my fun-loving side often allows me to be creative with my lessons. I look forward to working with your child!
I teach elementary math aligned with the common core. I struggled in math as a child and now have a positive, creative approach to teaching math.
I have a strong passion for reading and have taught all reading levels. I believe that reading is accessible to anyone and everyone with the right techniques.
I am a certified Elementary Education teacher and licensed to teach 1-6. I also am a certified Infant/Toddler teacher. My knowledge for this age group allows me to tackle any challenge.
I have worked with many students, including many who has English has a new language, to help their reading grow.

I teach to Common Core standards as a current first grade teacher. I took courses at Wheelock College in Boston Massachusetts to help prepare for the Common Core. I know how to access and read the Common Core standards online and explain it to parents or guardians who are unfamiliar with it.
I am a certified Massachusetts Elementary Education licensed teacher. I completed over 300 of student teaching. I currently work at a school as a first grade teacher.
I have taught Handwriting Without Tears curriculum to my first graders. I have impeccable handwriting. I am left handed and therefore can teach students who are struggling as lefties do sometimes.
I was top ten of my graduating high school class. I was the president of the Honors program at my college. I am highly organized and adapt to different learning styles. I worked two part time jobs in college while majoring a GPA of over 3.8 while taking 5 classes each semester. I manage my time well through organized lists and allotting the proper amount of time to complete tasks. I do not procrastinate. I am a certified Elementary Education teacher.
