Universite Libre de Kinshasa/DR Congo (Political Science)
University of Phoenix (MEd)
I am from Democratic Republic of Congo, a French-speaking country located in the middle of Africa. I graduated in social and political sciences, with concentration in international relations at the “Université Libre de Kinshasa” (French spelling) in DR Congo. I worked at the Foreign affairs and international cooperation Ministry of Congo from 1998 to 2007 where I served in many positions. I was a career diplomat and traveled several countries thanks to my work. Besides my administration job, I worked as a Professor Assistant and a Research Assistant on part-time basis from 1998 to 2007.
I am Christian, married, and father of four. I am flexible, liberal, and rational. I have been living in the United States since 2007 following political issues in my home country. Teaching is my passion, which pushed me to attend School of education at the University of Phoenix to get more knowledge and skills through a graduate program. Education is also my fight for Africans because I am convinced that long-lasting peace and development in Africa will come with a better education.
I think that what someone learns has to change him or her in terms of knowledge, and skills. That is why my tutoring is considered as an educational partnership to achieve something. For each tutoring, before starting lessons, I will do a quick needs Assessment of my student, and set up, with him or her, an instructional Goal and performance-based objectives. In my instruction, I use the indirect instruction to involve highly the student in the learning, and interactive method to allow him or her to exchange ideas and thoughts, as to develop skills, abilities, and rational arguments.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
