Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Business

I have a bachelor of science degree from an accredited institution in Management. Classes I have taken: Managerial Accounting, Business Management, Managerial Finance, Marketing, Advertising, Statistics, Business Law.

Career Development

I have a master of education degree from an accredited institution in Counseling. I have studied career counseling, and have taken a graduate level course at the 500 level, passing with an A - Working with college students, most of my work is focused around Career Counseling and Development.

College Counseling

I have a master of education degree from an accredited institution in Counseling. I have worked in Higher Education for the past 5 years, and have counseled many students on college readiness, academic advising, roommate concerns, study skills and other varied mental heath issues. I have an eclectic counseling style that blends existential roots with a person-centered, student development approach to personal coaching and counseling.

Common Core

I have my Bachelor of Science degree from a liberal art institution, that has a strong focus on the Common Core. I have experienced first hand taking common core classes, and in my current role as a University administrator, I advise college students in selecting classes that will help them complete their core requirements for their degree completion, as well as counseling them in developing life skills that will help them become successful both during their college career, and after graduation.

Marketing

I have a bachelor of science degree in Management, and I was challenged to take multiple Advertising, Marketing and Organizational Behavior courses that helped me to understand the basic tenets and foundations of Marketing. Advertising and Marketing have always been passions of mine, and in my current job I create marketing campaigns for student leadership positions and serve as a hiring manager.

Microsoft Outlook

Every day I use Microsoft Outlook for my work as an administrator at a University. I use Outlook to keep myself organized and to ensure that my calendar is up to day. I make sure that my contacts are updated, and that I am on-top of my emails. Outlook is very user-friendly and helps me be very productive at work.

Microsoft Publisher

I have used Microsoft Publisher for many years. Specifically, I have used this application to create pamphlets, coupons, flyers, advertisements, and other marketing related items to help promote programs or services I was attempting to promote awareness of. Most recently, I used Publisher to create a flyer for a job to hire students for a student leadership position.

Public Speaking

I have presented to more than 16,000 K-12 students, as well as at 15 national, regional and local conferences and developed dynamic workshops and presentations. I have traveled to various school districts across Massachusetts as a keynote speaker for the Massachusetts Aggression Reduction Center (MARC), and have a wealth of knowledge related to public speaking, body language and many other fundamentals about public speaking to help students further hone their skills.

Study Skills

I have my Master's Degree in Education, and my Bachelor's in Management. I have completed a thesis on college student digital identity development and have had extensive experience in developing study skills. In addition to my own personal experience, I have served as a substitute teacher for several months in an urban middle school in Newton, MA. These experiences have equipped me in developing strong study habits. I have worked with K-12 and college students, and have taught them how to study effectively, helping students to focus on organization. I take a strengths-based approach to tutoring and take into account the expectations of the teacher/professor and their syllabus/assignment guidelines.

Web Design

I own website that I designed myself. I also have access to mentors and technology that have helped me become proficient in web design. I have collaborated with other professionals to develop websites, as well as helped college students in a fraternity design their website.
