Paula has been great for my son and his reading skills. He had been having a difficult time with reading comprehension and English language arts.
His reading and vocabulary have improved and had been getting Cs and Ds in English and now has improved to As and Bs. He now looks forward to meeting with her each week and getting rewards for improving his reading. Thank you Paula.
Thank you, Tina, for your wonderful feedback. It is my privilege to see your hard-working, kind-hearted son blossom into a skilled reader and writer. Congratulations on the improved grades! I look forward to a great rest of the year.
Paula has a wonderful professional but personal working relationship with my son. In three months she has identified and challenged my son's weak areas in math. Her experience working with a student's individual learning style is evident by my son's eagerness to "do the work". She has been able to increase his proficiency in basic math facts and problem solving. He has gained confidence and increased his mathematic literacy.
Thank you, Sally, for your great feedback. It is a pleasure working with your son, and I'm so pleased by his terrific progress in math this year. Kudos for all the hard work!
Paula has worked with our son weekly this summer. We wanted to give him an avenue to keep his mind sharp on the long summer break (going in to 4th grade). She has been fantastic. Her rewards based learning system is a perfect match for my son, who loves earning credits by doing good work. She has an excellent demeanor, is patient, and kind. She has worked a lot with our son on his reading, and we are seeing great results in fluency and confidence.
When I asked him recently how he was enjoying working with Paula, our son's response was the she is awesome, and he didn't want to stop working with her when the summer was over. I guess that says it all!
Thank you for your great feedback. Working with your son is my privilege. What a sweet, hard-working boy! I'm so glad to hear the progress I see translating to improved reading fluency. I hope that increased confidence helps him sail through 4th grade!
We have found Paula to be a very capable and effective tutor. She provides detailed strategies to help our son with his writing, math, and social studies as well as guidelines for overall good study habits. We are particularly focused on writing skills and preparation for Middle School. Our son has been able to take Paula's input and direction and use it on a daily basis with his homework. Paula is very positive and patient, we highly recommend her.
Thanks, Judy! Your son is a hard-working student and a pleasure to work with. Congrats, again, to you and he, for winning the Most Improved Student award from Mr. P.!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
