I have an Associate's Degree in Commercial Art from Vesper George School of Commercial Art. I have been in the Prepress/Printing Industry since before the advent of computers (with age comes wisdom:). I have been involved with all facets of the Graphic Arts industry both traditional and digital from inception to output. Drawing and painting, graphic design, knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign), Web development and design are just a few of the areas I am knowledgeable in.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been using Illustrator since version 88. I use it to further enhance my illustrations and character cartoons as well as designing ads and logos for various customers.
I have been using Photoshop and Indesign primarily in the prepress industry since the programs have been around. I have also used Photoshop in a design capacity as a freelance graphic artist and retouching photos in the fashion industry (if hired I will clarify the difference). I am experienced with InDesign mostly in the capacity of advertising and prepress as a layout tool, not in book creation. But I know more than enough to teach the basics on both.
I have been in the desktop publishing industry since before computers. I served my apprenticeship in the ITU at Typograhic House of Boston, where I also learned my craft on computers.
Since I have been actively involved and employed in a variety of Desktop Publishing areas, from working in various Print shops to being an Application Support Technician for Creo/Scitex. I am well versed in a variety of platforms: Mac, PC as well as Unix. I am experienced in many Desktop Publishing programs including (but not limited to) the latest Adobe Creative Suite.
