I'm passionate about shaping the lives of young people. Having a positive impact on their education and academic pursuits is one of the best ways for me to do so. I've done a lot of coaching, admissions interviewing for Tufts, and hands-on consulting with college applications, admissions and athletic recruiting. I am the involved father of two high achieving college student-athletes and possess a profound appreciation for the value of a quality education and the opportunities that can create for motivated young people. Tutoring in any capacity provides me the outlet to help kids while pursuing my passion.
I am a graduate of a prestigious university and have my JD from a school of law. This educational background, on top of having practiced law for many years, has enabled and compelled me to hone my analytical and writing skills. I have also helped numerous student athletes with their college admissions and recruiting process, successfully gaining admission to elite academic institutions, in the course of which my logical, direct approach has taught them to develop and improve their test taking and essay writing techniques. Kenny is a great tutor. I hired him to help my son work on his essay for a college application. Kenny really helped my son find his voice and develop his personal story. His questions were very helpful in drawing out ideas from my son. Kenny is not going to do the work for you, rather he is going to help you distill your story and present it in a manner that is applicable to what colleges are looking for. I highly recommend him.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have coached dozens of kids over a 10 year period in youth sports up to high school, both individually and as part of a team. Several have gone on to play in college and I have continued to work with them to train and practice during their college off-seasons. I love coaching and teaching young people and I love football, so combining the two allows me to meld two of my passions.
