Northeastern University (Biology)
My name is Marie. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern University and I currently work in a medical oncology research lab at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
I am an avid, life-long learner and I feel that learning should be fun for everyone. I am enthusiastic, patient, and kind. Even though I hold a degree in science, I am a passionate reader of all topics. I am accomplished in a wide variety of subjects, although I enjoy the sciences the most.
I have previous experience as an after-school tutor for high school students, which I enjoyed immensely. I have also mentored high school and college students within my lab at Dana-Farber.
In my spare time (when I'm not reading), I like to play my violin, go ice skating, or attempt to garden in my planter boxes.
I have taken most of these subjects as college courses at Northeastern University. My GPA was 3.8 on a 4.0 scale.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I was a biology major at Northeastern University and did very well there. I now currently work at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in a research lab.
I took Genetics at the college level when I was enrolled at Northeastern University. I did very well in the class. I have not previously tutored a student in this particular subject but feel I can properly articulate the subject to another.
I have taken this as a college course at Northeastern University. It was presented as a lecture with a lab component. I did very well (A). I have not previously formally tutored a student in this subject although I did help a family member through the course. I feel I have a firm grasp of the subject and am confident I can teach it to another.
