Hello,

I am currently a graduate student at Bridgewater State University enrolled in the M.Ed. Special Education, Moderate Disabilities, PreK-8 program. Through motivation and perseverance, I have attained a 4.0 GPA for all 31 credits earned to date. I approach my studies very seriously and my ethic will transcend to any student with whom I tutor.

I have completed my pre-practicum coursework at 2 local elementary schools under the direct supervision of a licensed special education teacher. These projects included development of lesson plans to incorporate multi-sensory techniques, with appropriate modifications, progress monitoring, and pre- and post- assessment measures. Other completed projects include development of Functional Behavior Assessment and Behavior Intervention Plan; Assistive Technology Assessment; Educational Assessment inclusive of evaluation measures of standardized, informal, and formal assessments; written comprehensive evaluation reports and case studies; conducted quantitative and qualitative educationally based research studies. Other projects include development of comprehensive reading assessment and completion of a series of tutoring sessions using a variety of reading strategies.

As a graduate student volunteer, I have had the pleasure of working with elementary students under the direct supervision of a regular education teacher over a period of 1.5 years. In this volunteer capacity, I have provided individual and small group instructional support to students with and without exceptional learning needs during morning literacy and center activities several hours each week. I have also spent time assisting elementary students search the library database for a desired book and provided assistance locating the selection on the shelf. I collaboratively assisted other volunteers complete special projects assigned by the media specialist. Additionally, I have successfully passed two of the Massachusetts MTEL requirements: Communication and Literacy and Foundations of Reading. I have also been involved in Cub Scouts as a Den Leader and guided 5 Webelos to attain their highest honor of achievement, the Arrow of Light Award!

I look forward to engaging in the learning process with your child!
