About Michele

I have taught regular and special education students in grades K through 6. I am retired now, but still interested in helping students achieve to their best ability. I have also tutored students in grades 3 through 6. I have letters of recommendation for both teaching and tutoring. I have also done academic testing.

I have used both the Wilson and Project Read reading programs while teaching.
I have various programs available for math, reading and writing.

I have had to utilize various strategies in math for students to understand the workings of numbers. Hands-on learning, worksheets, and practice while making the process fun is essential for success.

I love reading and writing and I attempt to instill that love in my students. I like to vary the literature they read. I am very specific as far as grammar and spelling are concerned. Vocabulary enhances writing skills. Children can use their own experiences to express themselves in writing.

I miss teaching full time and I would like to work in the tutoring area to continue assisting children in their quest for achievement and success in school.
