About Arche

I believe the fundamental aim of teaching is to foster learning. Learning can take place in many different ways and contexts. Although every human being is capable of learning, the desire of a student to learn is a primary pre-condition to effectively mastering new concepts, new ideas and new skills.

Human beings have different or multiple learning styles: some people learn best in lecture atmospheres, some are motivated by discussion, and others learn best when they are offered the opportunity to read and reflect on what they have read. The classroom environment can encourage or inhibit learning depending on each student’s learning style.

Thus, it is important that the instructor strives to accommodate different learning styles in creating an atmosphere that is conducive to learning. Students may take many of their learning habits from the instructor. For example, if the teacher or the instructor doesn't display an active interest in the subject and a passion for learning, students will likely put forth less effort to learn in that class. An instructor must convince students of his or her knowledge and expertise before they will show a willingness to learn.

My job, as an instructor, is to develop an atmosphere that encourages learning. My passion is to guide my students through the process of learning. One of the best ways to foster learning is to demonstrate those feelings to my students. In my class room I encourage learning by developing a relaxed environment for students, stimulating conversation about concepts being presented and organizing material in a way that makes it easiest to understand.

I consider the subject matter as interconnected, by focusing on that everything student’s learning fits together into a holistic understanding of the world, from which they develop their personal worldview through the demonstration of general research methodology. Finally, I believe that respect for my students is one of the most important things I have cultivated - not only to encourage their openness to the material I am presenting, but also to inspire them to respect each other and all other human beings.
I have earned the following degrees: Ph.D., D.B.A., M. Ed., and an M.S.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
