I am Boston area tutor with over twenty years experience in tutoring, teaching and corporate education. My graduate education was in Education Psychology at the Harvard School of Education, and my undergraduate was completed in Management Sciences at Northeastern University, Boston. My Teaching experience includes several years at the private preparatory school, Governor Dummer Academy, in Newburyport, MA.
I am a certified tutor for UNDERGRAD/GRAD students in business programs at Boston area colleges (Harvard, Brandeis, Simmons, Northeastern, Boston University), specializing in: Business Strategy, Organizational Behavior, Marketing, Business Law, and Entrepreneurship. I also coach and tutor analyses of Harvard Business School CASE STUDIES, and can provide help with ORGANIZING TERM and RESEARCH PAPERS.
I work with adult students in graduate and undergraduate programs as well as students in grades 8 through 12.
My COACHING and TUTORING METHODOLOGY is to establish a strong rapport with each student - adult or young student, identify learning goals and milestones to ensure each student is successful, and complete a pre-tutoring assessment. My tutoring model is collaborative in that both myself and the student gain from the process. We agree on how, when, and what we will measure for evidence of the success of our work together.
I usually meet students in their local libraries, on campus, or work with parents for at-home assignments and will work by email when it is needed.
SUPER friendly with a terrific sense of humor, I pay close attention to each student's natural style of learning.
In addition to tutoring, I'm a marketing strategy consultant throughout New England, and in certain circumstances I've been convinced to assume the role of as a startup contract product marketing manager.

Bob has been my coach and tutor for my senior year at a Simmons College in Boston, MA. He has tutored me in many of my senior courses, helped me prepare for midterm and final exams, and reviewed my projections research papers. Because I am a native of China, Bob helped me understand the difficult texts and concepts of courses such as Business Law, Market Strategy, Leadership and Management, Project Management, and many Harvard Business School Case Studies.
Bob would often work with me late into the evenings and sometimes overnight to ensure I met the submission deadline. He also helped me prepare my resume, prep for internship interviews, and taught me about critical thinking. Through the 10 months Bob tutored me, he was dedicated to my success, extremely patient, knowledgeable and informative beyond the course material. Bob is an excellent mentor and able to work easily with students who come from China. I strongly recommend Bob to any college or graduate student needing help in their college coursework.
Great Professor, straight to the point and he does his work fast. Makes you understand quick and does not waste your time. Take him!
Robert was a very responsive and professional tutor. He did not work with my daughter for a very long time, but the time he was with her was very productive and added value to her preparing for several of the standardized tests. I would utilize him again, given the opportunity.
Bob is a well experienced expert in the field. I have no unmet wants, no complaints, and no unmet expectations. He is simply a great teacher who really knows his subject matter.
Thank you Bob!
My daughter loved the first lesson with Robert. He came prepared with some worksheets and was able to see where my daughter needs to improve. He also gave me some supplemental materials that were very helpful. He is a very friendly and professional tutor. I would highly recommend him.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have been playing and coaching chess for 15 years. A member of the USCF, I have competed in major chess tournaments primarily in New York and New Jersey. I am a cousin of the grandmaster Efim Geller.
My chess tutoring methodology includes a thorough introduction to the principles, mechanics, and psychology of the game, plus the keys to openings, mid game strategies, and of course close wins. Chess tutorees are encouraged to play online and interactive games for experience using websites I recommend. My chess students learn for fun, developing thinking skills, and to gain confidence. There is never a pressure to perform. However, if a student is interested in joining a local club I will make the introduction.
I have taught Hebrew for 20 years: Hebrew Schools in Massachusetts and in New Jersey; and privately at-homes as well in both states. In 1977 I attended Hebrew College for training as a Jewish education teacher. I have also been to Israel at least a dozen times and lived in Israel for a year.
I teach Hebrew (children age 7+ and adults) using a combination of primer workbooks and Hebrew (Israeli) storybooks. My tutoring will include the basics of reading and writing, basic vocabulary and conversational Hebrew and dikduq (grammar). I also teach Hebrew using the prayerbook (siddur) (in either ashkenazi or sephardi) and reading the five books of Moses. I am skilled at teaching Hebrew as part of the preparation for Bar and Bat Mitzvah lessons including the Haftorah and Torah reading (which I have done for 20 years).

I am a marketing strategy and branding consultant with 35 years professional experience managing corporate marketing and sales functions in technology companies in New York and Boston. In the late 1970s my graduate education concentration was marketing. Since 1990 I have been a frequent corporate speaker and trainer in marketing.
I work for the SONY corporation and teach their market channel teams on their camera/digital imaging technology and photography. I've been a passionate photographer for over 30 years, and have taught photography courses in New York, Florida, and in Boston.
Much of photography is about light management. I focus my tutoring on the delicate balance between aperture, shutter speeds, and ISO.
Currently I teach one- on-one throughout Massachusetts about camera technology, photography concepts and composition. I teach on all platforms: point & shoot, Compact ILCE's and DSLR's.
Part of my tutoring requires students to complete challenging and fun photo assignments, posting their results on Flickr.
I tutor indoors and outside depending on location and weather.
Studied Piano and music theory from the age of 7 at the American Conservatory of Music on Long Island New York until age 14. Attended Juilliard Prep School from age 14-17. Minored in music at Northeastern University in Boston. Attended piano masters classes at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston under the direction of Gunther Schuller in the 1970's.
I have been helping students (including my two now college-aged children) and adults develop healthy study skills for over 15 years. To acquire best practices excellence in providing Study Skills coaching I attended several professional educator labs in Study Skills development and worked with an array of study skill programs since 1990.
My approach to Study Skill coaching is customized to the student and based on their age and grade level.
Our first effort is an assessment of the student's daily schedules, study environment as well as their individual study skills strengths and challenges.
Then we develop a plan by subject to build study skills beginning with planning and organizing study sessions and assignments.
This is an evolving effort during which the student learns to evaluate what to study, how to study the subject, and how to quantify the end result of their study experience. I use a series of tools, games, and resources to help the student recognize healthy study habits and define skills that are unique to the student. I use humor and fun experiences to encourage the development of healthy habits.
We also develop a personalized performance / incentive program which is unique to the student and evaluated by me with the student's parents.
During the coaching sessions the student will build a set of personal rules for study. This becomes a permanent part of their educational experience which is applied through their college education.
