My name is Richard and I have experience teaching high school and college students. I have been an adjunct lecturer in Chemistry at Bridgewater State and Quincy college/Plymouth where I taught first level chemistry to chemistry majors and nursing students. I enjoy helping students working out problems and having them discover the meaning of the problem.
I also minored in mathematics in college and obtained an MS degree in Chemical Engineering. My thesis was very mathematical involving the solution of a partial differential equation with application to the biochemical processing of proteins and nucleic acid in space. As I graduate student I was a teaching assistant to undergraduates in subjects like Biochemistry and Numerical Analysis.
I have been a chemist working for several companies in the clinical, environmental and biotechnology sciences. I advised several of my co-workers who continued their education in the sciences such as analytical chemistry, mathematics and physics, and even sociology.
I currently have a mathematical blog related to help students understand more advance topics in linear algebra.
I have always been fair to my students when I needed to assign grades. I give extra credit homework to provide them a chance to succeed. I am very patient during the tutoring session and avoid making the student uncomfortable. The idea is to learn and not become frustrated!
I am qualified to teach Algebra and Calculus. I was an AP calculus student in high school and minored in mathematics in college. I took advanced mathematics and computer programming in graduate school and taught these subjects as a graduate teaching assistant.
I am an experienced Chemist (B.S) and Chemical Engineer (M.S.). I worked as a Research Chemist in a clinical research laboratory and in an Environmental Metabolism laboratory. As an Research Engineer I helped design several chemical processes for industries. I have taught chemistry to nursing and undergraduate students at several colleges and community colleges.
I can provide my student with the knowledge needed to succeed! Please contact me for any help in Chemistry, Mathematics, Biochemistry, or Chemical Engineering.
