About Paula

I am presently a special needs teacher in a substantially separate classroom. This means I have my students pretty much all day except for inclusion lessons, lunch and recess and specialists. My students make a years progress both in math and ELA each year. I am very knowledgable in curriculum and have the ability to teach a concept using many different strategies.

I have previously taught for many years as well in regular education classrooms in grades 2 and 5. I have been privately tutoring for many years and enjoy seeing the progress my students make through out the years .

Presently I plan and teach reading in grade levels 2-4. I have also in a regular education classroom taught grade 5. I know the benchmarks that students need to achieve and each them through lessons in phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension.

I have 26 years teaching at the elementary level.

I am certified in special needs and am presently teaching in that position for students in grades 3-5, but the curriculum ranges from grades 2-5 depending on each student's instructional level.

I try to make learning fun as possible and remove the stress and anxiety. I add humor and students feel comfortable and willing to learn.
