Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have a BS degree and an MA degree in elementary education. My experience includes 16 years as a special needs teacher and 7 years as a grade 3 teacher.

Handwriting

As a teacher of grade three, teaching handwriting was an integral aspect of my experience and responsibility. I have taught both the Rinehart and D' Nealian methods.

Phonics

I have experience teaching phonics to children with moderate special needs as well as third graders in regular education programs, and have course work in this area.
