About Mark

I have spent more than 25 years working in the field of criminal justice, having been a police detective for most of that time. I have participated in hundreds of criminal investigations and prosecutions as a case agent and investigator. My duties included case management, the gathering of evidence, extensive surveillance, interviews and the arrest of suspects.

The bulk of my experience relates to criminal law and procedure. While employed as a police detective, I prepared countless legal documents, including detailed police reports, and affidavits in support of search warrants. I have extensive experience in court procedure, and have testified in both State and Federal Courts on numerous occasions. During the course of my career I investigated homicides, major narcotics traffickers and individuals involved in organized crime.

During my employment in law enforcement, I was assigned to assist various other enforcement agencies, including the D.E.A., the F.B.I. and H.U.D. I was also assigned to the U.S. Customs Financial Organized Crime Task Force for three years. The primary responsibility of this Task Force was to investigate money laundering and other financial crimes. We worked closely with many financial institutions in our efforts to uncover violations of federal law.

I have broad knowledge of, and experience in most areas of the criminal justice system, including administration, procedure, security, and corrections,

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Career Development

I was formerly employed as the Manager of a Career Resource Center. The Center dealt mainly with the reintegration of first time federal offenders into the work force. I was responsible for the initial establishment of the Center’s functions and operations, and then for managing and maintaining the Center. My primary function was to assist clients’ in their search for employment and/or in furthering their education. My duties included client interviews, assessment of skills and abilities, documentation of prior employment and education, resume preparation, mock interviews, employment availability research, and coordinate employment interviews.
