Hi!

I began my journey into statistics at the University of Chicago where I majored in Mathematics and minored in computer science. During my time there, I took quite a few theoretical math classes, but found myself drawn to the statistics side of things, where the problems seemed more practical and applicable to the real world. Hi!

I began my journey into statistics at the University of Chicago where I majored in Mathematics and minored in computer science. During my time there, I took quite a few theoretical math classes, but found myself drawn to the statistics side of things, where the problems seemed more practical and applicable to the real world. I began to think deeply about how statistics could be applied to real world public health problems.

This led me down the path to graduate school, where I am now a Biostatistics Ph.D. candidate at UMass Amherst, specializing in forecasting infectious disease using machine learning. I participate in the annual FluSight forecast prediction initiative to forecast influenza rates across the U.S. I am mainly interested in disease surveillance and clinical trials.

During my time in graduate school, I have had the opportunity to tutor undergraduates as a TA, but also individual tutoring with members of my research group. I really enjoyed the 1x1 tutoring sessions, where each meeting built upon the previous. I look forward to making statistics exciting for you!
