Hello! I am a hopeful middle school social studies teacher. I have almost completed my degree at Bridgewater State University and I am looking forward to moving back to the North Shore after graduation. My experiences at Bridgewater have made me a qualified candidate for any teaching position. I am currently doing my student teaching in a 7th grade social studies classroom in Brockton. I am learning so much about teacher and student roles and what I can do for my students to help them find success. I have also been a substitute teacher in the North Reading school system for over a year. Between these two experiences, I have been in every classroom from Preschool to 8th grade.
My personal experience also helps me relate to students. I have also taught Martial Arts for nine years. It has been on of the most important influences on my life besides my family. If I had not found martial arts at a young age, I would not be the person I am today. I would not have learned that I loved teaching.
I have found that in these contrasting teaching environments, there is one thing that stands out to me as my favorite aspect; I love working one-on-one with students. I want my students to see their progress and know that they can learn as long as they give me the effort that I am willing to give to them. It's all about the effort. If my student puts all of their effort into an assignment and only earns a 'C', when they would normally earn a 'D', I want them to know that they still did a wonderful job. As long as they are learning through their mistakes and they want to continue to try harder, then I know I have done my job.
I hope that I have convinced you of my potential. I would love to tutor anyone in history, social studies, geography (my major and minors) or anything from English (I always enjoyed the subject and as the Common Core says, every teacher is a literacy teacher). I hope to hear from you soon! Hello! I am a hopeful middle school social studies teacher. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
