As a former middle/high school math teacher, I am very effective helping struggling students to succeed in math. My expertise ranges from students just learning how to multiply and divide to those who struggle with algebra concepts or are preparing to take the SAT. My master's degree is in Math Education. My doctorate is in Quantitative Research Methods (e.g., statistics, SPSS). While there is role for memorization, I believe in focusing on working with students to develop an understanding of the mathematics.

My 9 yr old son worked with Pam for the first time recently. She had a very calm, patient approach and explained things on his level. We've already booked to have Pam again!
Highly recommend Pam to all those without strong math skills. She breaks down concepts and makes them easy to digest. She's also very kind and easy to get along with
Looking forward to getting ready for sixth grade math. New school year is only a few weeks away and we want to start math on a positive vibe.
Pam's response time was quick. She made herself available to meet with us soon after email contact, which we greatly appreciated. Pam listened to our concerns and goals. Met with our son and together we formed a game plan. We look very forward to working with her.
I had a fabulous first session with Pam for Statistics II and showing me the ins and outs of the SPSS program. She was very helpful in showing me shortcuts in computing my results without having to switch back and forth between screens, and patient with me trying to understand the process. Seeing her again.
I am extremely pleased with what Pam has helped my son to accomplish in Algebra. She not only helped him to gain his confidence in math, but she helped him to realize his potential.
My son wrote “I was very fortunate to have Pam as my Algebra tutor. She has taught me many problem solving techniques. When Pam started tutoring me, there were many math concepts I did not understand. Thanks to Pam, I have accomplished many goals in math and it is now my favorite subject.”
Pam is very professional and knowledgeable. She has been tutoring me through a college level Statistics course that I am taking online. I haven't had Math in many years (adult learner) so I am quite the challenge and believe I'm a pretty good barometer for recommending a tutor to anyone looking for a math/algebra/calculus/statistics tutor.
Pam is very patient and possesses a unique skill in breaking down the material so that it makes sense and is easy to grasp. She presents the subject in a manner that even I can understand and remember. Pam also goes above and beyond by offering alternate resource material and provides a common sense approach to learning and getting the work done. I put my faith in her for my own academic needs and would highly recommend her to anyone needing assistance in grasping all things Math.
Pam does a great job teaching. She tailored the lessons to my needs. She understood what I needed to learn and was very patient.
Pam was a terrific tutor. She was able to make very difficult material very understandable. I appreciated her availability via email. Any question I sent her was answered in a very timely and clear manner.
She was really helpful with my algebra class. After her I got a really good grade from my class. She taught me how to be confident with the subject in a fun way. She was always well prepared. I am looking forward to working with her again next year.
Pam was great in helping me with my online Statistics class. She was thorough and her explanations were to the point and precise. We accomplished a lot of work in the 2 hours we met. I am going to meet her again to finish this semester. I will be taking a Biostatistics class in September and would love to keep her as a tutor for future needs as they arise.
Your service so far has been great I connected with a tutor within a few hours of posting my needs with Statistics... THANK YOU!!!
I taught Algebra I for five years (8th grade, 9th grade, and college algebra).
Providing a solid foundation in mathematics is crucial. But for some students, math can seem challenging. I am able to work with students to UNDERSTAND the mathematical concepts important in elementary school especially as it relates to multiplication, division, fractions, and identifying patterns.
Over the last 20 years, I have assisted several students successfully prepare for the GED. While most of my expertise is in the math portion, I can also assist with the reading section as well.
In my career, I regularly use MS Excel spreadsheets to organize data and prepare various types of charts (e.g., bar charts, line graphs). Using Excel formulas and Pivot tables, I am able to provide summary information on these data.
As a former middle/high school math teacher, I have taught pre-algebra for 7th and 8th grade as well as high school students. In addition to teaching, I have tutored students across the breadth of math topics from multiplication/division to fractions to algebra and geometry. Therefore, I have a deep understanding of the math concepts that are critical for success in the subsequent math courses.
As a former middle/high school math teacher, I have vast experience with the math content on the SAT. When needed, I am able to break the content down into manageable pieces such that the student can understand the content and be successful. I believe that student, with the right supports and guidance, can be successful in mathematics.
Not only have I used SPSS in my current profession for the last 15 years, I have taught graduate and undergraduate courses in statistics, requiring the use of SPSS.
At the college level, I have taught undergraduate and graduate courses in statistics. These courses have focused on descriptive and inferential statistics (e.g., t-tests, ANOVA, regression, Chi-square). Throughout my career over the last 20 years, I have conducted various statistical analyses as well as provided written descriptions of the results.
