I realize that chemistry can be difficult for many high school students. Often students are often confused by the notes in class and the text, and need to hear the subject matter in a one-on-one or small group environment. In addition to being familiar with the general chemistry curriculum, I am also familiar with many of the laboratory exercises performed in the class. I have found that students often have difficulties with understanding the teachers expectations, and how to apply what they have covered in class into the lab report. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
