About Brian

My love of teaching comes from a love of learning. As a cum laude graduate of Berklee College of Music, I have extensive knowledge in all aspects of music, focusing on music theory and arranging in all styles of music. While at Westfield State University I was able to earn my music k-12 educator's license along with the B. A. degree in music education. I learned how to play and teach all of the instruments of the orchestra and symphonic band. I also studied teaching in general in a school and private instructional setting.

I specialize in tutoring rhythm section instruments along with the theory that goes along both playing in ensembles. I also spend time composing arranging and creating my own instruments which allows me to experiment with the science of acoustics, the art of poetry and the musicianship of performing and recording.

I have been teaching piano and drums since I was in high school more than 30 years ago. I have also been performing and recording for many years in the greater Boston area. While at Westfield State University, I learned how to play all of the band and orchestra instruments. While at Berklee I learned how to arrange for these instruments along with choral arranging. I also attended many songwriting clinics and professional development seminars in the field of music education.

I am generally available for tutoring every Monday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and I can travel to students within a 40 mile radius of my home. For online instruction, I can offer weeknights from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. My base rate is $60/hour for in-person lessons and $30/hour for online lessons. I also offer lesson packages at a discount. Contact me for details!

I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve success in your studies!
