About Matt

I am currently a teacher at a vocational high school in Massachusetts. I have been teaching for several years, mostly as a Special Education Teacher in high school math classes. I am certified as both a special ed teacher and a math teacher (at both middle school and high school levels). I have a Masters Degree in Education with concentrations in both Moderate Disabilities and high school Math.

I have been tutoring for about the past 9 years, privately, with tutoring companies, and through local high schools both in person and online. I have tutored for all math high school level classes, physics/biology/chemistry, middle school subjects, as well as test preparation for MCAS and SATs. I can also help with general homework help, and aspects of executive function (organization, planning, etc.).

I am patient, laid back, and flexible. I work with many different types of learners, and would be happy to try to assist students who are looking for help!

Approved subjects

For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Patient and Knowledgeable — Matt is very patient and explains things in clear understandable terms. He is supportive and does a great job helping his student work through problems with assistance but knows when to skip past something hard and circle back to it later to prevent too much frustration. ...
