I was born in Boston, MA, where I grew up on the tough streets of Mattapan, Roxbury and Dorchester. In those days gang and drug-related crimes were at an all-time high. I knew what it really meant to take the long-way home for I had to on several occasions. I am a product of the Boston Public Schools System where I got his high school diploma in 1987.
I have a Bachelor’s in Business Administration received from Endicott College December 2001 and Master’s Degree for Nichols College December 2003. I currently holds a Massachusetts teaching license for math and business. I have been in the United States Military most of my adult life with almost fifteen years of military experience in leadership.
In December 1987, I joined the military an enlisted in Massachusetts Army National Guard where I achieved the rank of sergeant. I have been a part-time soldier in the Massachusetts Army National Guard with twenty years of total service with fifteen years of active federal service until I retired in 2008.
I believe in the activity of learning, therefore I will incorporate a lot of activities to help my students learn. For example, fractions are my favorite, pizza is a good instrument to help students learn about fractions. I have taught all levels, from pre-k to college statistics and being a math teacher, I make lessons easy for my students to understand and the results are measurable. I believe in keeping it simple. Connected quickly with my son. Very nice with a calm disposition. My son felt very comfortable while learning math skills.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
