UMass Dartmouth (Computer Science)
Introduction classes to computer programming are difficult due to the nature of the subject itself, along with the limited availability of instructors or teaching assistants, and learning from stale slides in an overbooked lecture hall. I offer private 1 on 1 lessons where the student is encouraged to ask as many questions, and feel relaxed about learning. I find that students enjoy the 1 on 1 experience because they enjoy the immediate feedback of entering in code and having a tutor readily available for help. I have had students return for lessons in different subjects as semesters go on. I also offer Skype lessons in situations where traveling is inconvenient. Skype is nice because the students can screen share and we can look at assignments or code together. Let me know what works for you!
I graduated UMass Dartmouth May 2013 with BS in Computer Science and Music Minor. Upon graduating I was hired as a contract software engineer at IDEXX Laboratories outside of Portland, ME. To make ends meet, I began tutoring on WyzAnt in April 2014. In February 2015, I was hired by Ariett Business Solutions in Pembroke, MA to be a full stack developer. Since returning to Massachusetts I have continued my WyzAnt tutoring.
I have been playing guitar since I was 13, I have been in rock bands since 15, have had music featured in Volcom surf videos, and have played hundred of gigs. I have also studied extensive jazz guitar at University level. In May 2013 I graduated UMass Dartmouth with a music minor.
My lessons are perfect if you are just beginning the guitar (acoustic or electric), if you want advice on how to play a live show, or if you need someone to bounce songwriting ideas off of. Mission:

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
After receiving my Computer Science degree in May 2013 from UMass Dartmouth, I was hired full time as a software engineer by IDEXX Laboratories HQ in Westbrook, ME.
I graduated Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from UMass Dartmouth, May 2013.
Some university grades, both OOP classes were Java.
CIS180: Object Oriented Programming I: A-
CIS181: Object Oriented Programming II: A
I also landed a summer internship at IDEXX Laboratories in 2012 for java engineering position.
Upon graduating Cum Laude in Computer Science the following May, IDEXX offered me a full time Java Developer position.
