New York University (Psychology)
Hey I'm Elizabeth. I just graduated from NYU College of Art and Sciences. I majored in Psychology, as well as concentrated in the pre-med health sciences. I graduated with a 3.72 and I also am a teaching assistant at Framingham Public Schools for children with special needs.
I really help helping students engage and understand the material so that they can be confident for tests. I want everyone to have a chance to work for their dream college or trade, and I've learned a lot of studying tricks that can help keep grades up. I wasn't a student in which good grades came easily, I also have to work really hard for my grades and I want to help others who were in my shoes. The best advice I have ever received in school- The only difference between an A and a B is that little bit more of studying.
I had high SAT math scores, and took up to Calculus I at NYU.
I had a science concentration in which I took very advanced Biology
classes and labs. I received As in everyone of my biology classes.
Took up to a English II in college and received As. I tutored students at NYU and have always been a strong writer.
I teach and am an assistant all general, core classes at Framingham Public Schools.
I work at Fuller Middle School-
specializing with students with special needs, especially ADD/ADHD. I was actually diagnosed with ADD when I was little.
I really love teaching and helping other students. I've been through a lot of tests and a lot of hard studying sessions. I know I can help. Hey I'm Elizabeth. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a full-time moderate special needs teacher at Fuller Middle School. I teach guided academics for the 8th grade, attend core classes on the green team and work with IEP children. I also work one on one with a few students that have severe ADD/ADHD, as well as emotional and behavioral problems. Previous to my work at Fuller Middle School, I worked at The Bridge in Worcester, MA as a residential counselor for children and teenagers for two years. I conducted group therapy, daily activity plans and I was responsible for the overall mental and physical health of my clients. Overall, I have several years experience with teaching and working with ADD/ADHD students. My work performance will show that I am a successful teacher and one on one mentor and it is reflected in my students grades. I also graduated from New York University with a major in Psychology.
