I have been involved with politics both academically and with various political campaigns for over ten years. I completed my BA in Political Science in 2007. Most of my degree was earned on a part time basis; as a result of this, I was constantly taking courses in the social sciences and creating new and improved study methods to maintain a strong GPA. The most important area of tutoring I can offer to students is the ability to grasp complicated historical and political facts and dates with a common sense approach to learning.
One of the methods I use is to help the individual first grasp the overall concept being discussed and then break each area down and incorporate each section learned into the overall subject manner. This process allows someone who isn't well informed about the subject to first develop a general understanding of what is being discussed. For example, if a student wants to understand post world war II American foreign policy between 1945-1950, he or she must first understand that with the large sum of data one must learn pertaining to specific dates and policies they should first grasp the overall concepts involved, such as cold war, containment, Marshal Plan, etc. Having a general understanding of the information makes micromanaging key facts dates and historical relevant information less complicated. Every one learns and processes information differently, this is only one method I utilize, the most important element to my style of tutoring is adaptability. Being able to adapt to a persons specific needs pertaining to the subjects of politics, history and the social sciences in general is what I can offer to a potential client.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
