Hi, I'm Michael. I am the 8th grade math teacher for Malden's Linden S.T.E.A.M academy and a graduate student at Boston University where I'm working towards my MS in applied data analytics. I have a bachelors from Brandeis in mathematics and economics. I have conducted mathematical research with a former professor which is in the process of being published.

I think math is the most fascinating subject there is, which makes it a tragedy that many students have such a poor experience with it due to unimaginative teachers. Mathematics is not a dry, rigid topic in my view. I see it as dynamic and exciting and I apply this attitude to my teaching. I don't expect to convince students to feel the same way but I can alleviate the tedium and feeling of dread that many students get when it comes to math. Teaching at the most diverse middle school in the state has allowed me the opportunity to develop a broad array of approaches so that I can meet the unique needs of each student.
I have experience working with all ages, from young children to adults. During my first year at Linden, I worked as a math assistant and taught small groups of kids of all grades k-8. I have also tutored high school and university students in topics ranging from geometry and algebra to calculus and differential equations. I've designed and implemented curricula in a public school setting and so have an adept understanding of how to best prepare students to reach their educational goals.
I am committed to accommodating any needs a student may have, such as students with learning differences and students with disabilities. I believe that each and every person is capable of understanding math.
Please feel free to send me a message so that we can talk further. I look forward to working with you!
