Tokyo Institute of Foreign Language
Hello! Thank you for reading my profile, I hope you were able to find the information you're seeking.
My name is Chiho, and I have had 20-plus years of experience tutoring Japanese and all levels of mathematics. Growing up in Tokyo, I was fortunate enough to experience American culture while attending the Tokyo Institute of Foreign Language, and coming home to my Japanese family. I brought my knowledge and passion for Japan with me when I moved to the States 25 years ago, and share it via tutoring local students of all ages.
I am comfortable teaching all levels of Japanese, from basic reading and writing, to more advanced learners. Watching my students excel and develop their skills from the beginning of their time with me to the end has been extremely rewarding and drives me to teach more students. The feedback I have received includes my accessible teaching style, ability to put my students at ease, and open availability.
Please contact me if you have any questions or would like to set up a lesson, I look forward to hearing from you.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
