Teaching is my passion. As a lifelong learner, I graduated cum laude and recognize that hard work, coupled with dedication is key to success. As one of the top In-Home Tutors for a private company for the past four years, I have had the pleasure of helping several students build their confidence and see their math and reading scores improve.

I specialize in tutoring math, reading/comprehension, writing, study skills, and organizational skills. As a high school Math and English special educator, I recognize the importance of using visuals, various graphic organizers, and breaking down large problems/projects into smaller more manageable chunks. My goal is to keep students challenged without overwhelming them. To ensure that students are gaining the most from each lesson, I regularly check for understanding after each new concept. I assign homework after every lesson, and provide periodic assessments and progress reports.

One of my greatest strengths is in preparing students for the math and English MCAS. As an MCAS Preparation Instructor since 2009, I have seen students’ MCAS scores soar, and watch as students rejoice when they receive their MCAS results. As an administrator, I know and appreciate the importance of two-way communication. I hold myself to a high standard and often ask for feedback from parents and students. In addition, I try to be flexible with time. Although I have a 24-hour cancellation policy, I offer make-up classes.I am happy to travel to a location that is comfortable and convenient for the student to study.

I look forward to hearing from you and helping you to achieve success in your academics!

My Master's Degree is in Special Education, and I hold MA Teaching Certifications in Moderate Disabilities, Grades Pre-K-8, and 5-12. I have been teaching students with disabilities at the middle and high school level since 2007. Additionally, I am the Head of the Special Education Department at my high school where I not only manage a caseload of 180 students where a fair percentage of those students have ADD/ADHD, but also teach three special education classes each day, and provide accommodations/modifications and support to the students. My teaching/tutoring methods include building confidence, explicitly teaching concepts, organizational skills and study skills, as well as the use of graphic organizers.
