About Chris

Since I was asked to become a guitar teacher at age 15 at a local music shop, I've been educating in one form or another. I'm now a doctor of and graduate professor of psychology, have a private practice as a psych and behavior consultant, and continue to teach music and play professionally.

In particular, I have plenty of experience counseling, advising and teaching college students. I've been through the thesis/dissertation process, and am currently involved in research. With this level in mind, lower level subject material is often more than doable, and a long history as a psychotherapist for children, families, couples and adults certainly doesn't hurt here. I'm about comfort and rapport first, and mutual problem solving. I find teaching enriching, as I always learn something too. I hold degrees or certifications in psychology, sociology, criminal justice, and holistic healing modalities.

My education, personal work, and experience as an undergrad and graduate professor merges where psychology, sociology, neuroscience and philosophy meet.

I am an award winning guitarist, songwriter and also have years of experience teaching other instruments and vocals. I've co-written published material and had songs features by entities like ESPN.

I am very straight forward. If I can help you, I will, and I'll let you know how and why at the outset. If not, I won't mess around or waste time. I spend all of my 'work' time teaching, counseling, and helping people. Its a gift to be able to say that, and I take it seriously. You can believe in that.

If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
