About Christopher

I am a journalist and editor with 40 years experience in communications and news media, including journalism, public relations, and public broadcasting and film. Thirty three of those years were spent in daily newspapers with the Republican Co. in Springfield MA and its cadre of newspapers. My free-lance work has appeared in Rolling Stone, The Boston Globe and other publications, including weekly and monthly journals. As the senior fellow in communications and public broadcasting at the Airlie Foundation in Washington DC and Warrenton VA, I wrote grant requests to the federal government and worked on documentary film scripts in the area of public health. I also worked in public television as an assistant producer and writer at Channel 57 in Springfield MA. I served as assistant director of public relations at the Williston-Northampton School in Easthampton MA. My writing has been consistently published since 1970, when I still was a student at Boston University in the School of Public Communication. I graduated with a bachelor of science degree in 1972. I have won both national and regional New England awards for my work with the Republican Co. Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
