Science and math are what my every day is about. My current job is math and science instructor at a local grade school. My education was in engineering, and I still spend my free time learning about popular science, like black holes and artificial intelligence. Sharing ideas is what draws me to learn more and more every day. I enjoy the feeling of seeing someone else learn something new because I've had that feeling countless times.
I like to explain math as a way to practice a certain style of thought, rather than as something to be memorized and forgotten as soon as the homework is done. I like to explain math in ways that feel intuitive and relatable, rather than purely abstract field of study. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
